What is event text messaging?
Event text messaging means sending guests messages by SMS or WhatsApp before, during and after an event. With Impulse, the first message is the guest’s own photos, which gives them a reason to opt in and keep the thread.
How do guests opt in to event texts?
Guests sign up on a branded web page to get their event photos. They enter their phone number and accept your messaging terms on that page, so every number you text gave consent at the event.
Can guests get their event photos on WhatsApp instead of SMS?
Yes. Impulse supports WhatsApp delivery, though most brands use SMS. Either way, every photo is also in the guest’s private gallery.
Can we send event photos by email?
Impulse delivers photos by SMS and WhatsApp. You can add an email field to the signup page and use those addresses in your own email follow-up.
Do guests need to download an app?
No app required. Guests sign up on a web page, get their photos by SMS or WhatsApp, and open their private gallery from a link.
How do event texts get into our CRM?
Export your guest list as a CSV from the Impulse client portal, with phone numbers, signup answers and opt-in status, and import it into any CRM. For a direct CRM sync, your Impulse contact can set it up.
Can we text only VIP guests?
Yes. Signup fields and access paths let you split guests into groups, then message one group at a time. Genesis used separate VIP and General journeys at its 2026 Invitational.
